UB Diving’s SUMMER SCUBA SCHOOL is the gateway to what is often a life changing experience.
WHY? This program will prepare you for further training as a commercial diver or as a professional SCUBA instructor or DIVEMASTER. There are many good jobs available here and abroad.
WHO? This program is suited for anyone 16 years or older.
WHEN? July 12th to 23rd & Aug 9th to 20th
When completed you can qualify for 10 high school credits.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
PADI Open Water Divers ( 2 credits) are qualified to:
- Dive with a buddy independent of supervision while applying the knowledge and skills they learn in this course, within to a max depth of 60ft.
- Obtain air fills, rent & buy scuba equipment and other services.
- Plan, conduct and log open water no stop (no decompression) dives when properly equipped and when accompanied by a buddy.
PADI's Advanced Diver ( 4 credits) Course fine tunes your dive skills and allows you to explore five new diving environments to a max depth of 100ft. In this course, you will explore new aspects of diving such as Drysuit, Wreck, Deep, search & recovery, fish identification and Underwater Navigation.
The PADI Rescue Diver ( 4 credits) will develop your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well being of other divers and is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training as an Instructor, Divemaster or Commercial Diver.
Taking your Diving Education to the next level you will receive specialty training in,
PADI Drysuit Diving SPECIALTY PROGRAM-When staying warm in cold water is important, take advantage of the PADI Dry Suit Diver program.

Student divers must have a current version of these required materials:
- PADI Open Water Diver Manual- SUPPLIED!
- PADI Adventures in Diving Manual & slate- SUPPLIED!
- PADI Rescue Diver Manual & Accident Management Slate- SUPPLIED!
- RDP – RDP including associated Instructions for Use booklets- SUPPLIED!
- LOG BOOK- SUPPLIED!
Required Equipment:
During open water scuba training diver equipment requirements are fins, mask, snorkel, compressed air cylinder with valve, BCD with low pressure inflator, regulator, alternate air source, submersible pressure gauge, weight system and appropriate exposure protection for the environment. Each diver must have a depth gauge and at least one audible emergency surface signaling device. – ALL SUPPLIED!
